Quincy Market Update: September 2026 + 14-Month Trends (98848)

Quincy's housing market slowed down in September, but buyers didn't leave. Homes in ZIP 98848 took noticeably longer to sell than a year ago, inventory kept building, and pending sales still jumped. Here's what the latest NWMLS numbers show and what they mean if you're buying or selling in Quincy or Crescent Bar this fall.
The Headline: 76 Days on Market
Homes that sold in September averaged 76 days on market, up 55.1% from 49 days in September 2025. That was the biggest year-over-year shift of any stat this month. Buyers are taking their time, and sellers need to plan for a longer runway.

14-Month Trends
We've been tracking Quincy's numbers every month since August 2025, and the longer view tells a clearer story than any single month.
Inventory has more than doubled. Active listings bottomed out at 35 in February and have climbed to 83 to 84 homes over the last two months.
Months of supply has followed the same path. It went from 4.4 months in February to 9.4 now, firmly in buyer's-market territory. Six months is generally considered balanced.
Prices are holding. The monthly median swings a lot in a market this size (from $364,911 in March to $552,000 in August) because so few homes close each month. The year-to-date median is the steadier read. At $418,000, it's down just 1.9% from last year and has stayed between $405,000 and $420,000 since March.
What It Means for Buyers
You have more homes to choose from, more time to decide, and more room to negotiate than you've had in years. Inspection requests, seller-paid closing costs and price reductions are all realistic conversations in this market.
What It Means for Sellers
Demand is still there. Pending sales were up more than 55%, and sellers are getting 97.6% of list price on average. The difference is that buyers have options, so pricing correctly from day one and presenting your home well matter more than ever.
